What are the Rights of Nature, where do they come from, and why are they important? Join us for a conversation on this legal framework, which recognizes ecosystems and natural entities as rights-bearing. Our speakers will discuss the movement's roots and its intersections with environmental law and community-based advocacy, offering insights into innovative approaches to environmental stewardship and justice.

Are you interested in studying environmental science, animal science, plant science, nutritional science or another agricultural and natural resources area?  Then come learn what we have to offer in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR).  These sessions will give you a chance to learn about AGNR, its nine undergraduate (BS & BLA) degree programs, minors, our hands-on approach to learning, beyond the classroom experiences, life as a Terp, and more. Please note that each visit date offers a unique experience. On this visit (October 25) guests will attend a general presentation, hear from current AGNR students, and tour the on-campus farm. Please note in this special Saturday session - other academic units will not be available; other University amenities and facilities will operate on weekend hours.

This experience is intended for Prospective Animal Science (ANSC) Students. The tour will take place during Maryland Day, Saturday, April 26th and is designed to give you an in-depth look at ANSC academic programs, labs, and farm facilities. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to meet with Department of Animal and Avian Sciences representatives who will provide information about the programs offered within Animal Sciences. You'll also have a chance to explore ANSC labs and the campus farm, giving you a better understanding of the hands-on learning environment and resources offered. Please be sure to pre-register to reserve your spot. Get ready for an exciting and informative experience!

University of Maryland celebrates Ag Day 100 at Maryland Day on Saturday, April 26! 

Visit Ag Day Avenue to make new friends at the Campus Farm, grab a plant, discover innovative research, meet student clubs, enjoy live music, try our special Ag Day ice cream, check-out our recently planted tree, and much more as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the original Ag Day! Plus, there will be a special opening ceremony at the farm at 9:30am.

Complementing the options to visit and tour the University of Maryland, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) will be hosting college-specific Information Sessions on select visit days. Prospective students and their families will have the chance to learn about AGNR, its majors, minors, student clubs and more! Each Info Session will also provide an opportunity for visitors to interact with current students in these agricultural- and environmental science-based majors. Each session will include an opportunity to interact with representatives of the majors in AGNR.
