There is plenty of time for questions, sharing, reacting, and connecting with your presenters and fellow participants. It's a relaxed, fun and dynamic way to learn, grow and meet other women in agriculture.

Stop by the Queen Anne’s Public Library in Kent Island on the second Saturday of every month from February to April from 10 am to noon with all your questions about gardening, garden pests, plant problems, and insects. Master Gardeners will be on hand to give tips and tricks to make your home garden flourish, help troubleshoot tricky growing situations, and offer encouragement on creating the perfect garden for your space.

The event will be held at the Queen Anne’s County 4-H Park on Route 18 (https://www.qacfair.com/directions) to kick-off the spring planting season.

General attendance is free and programming will begin at 8:30 am. It's a great opportunity to network with other farmers and ag businesses. Credits for Nutrient Management, Pesticide Recertification and Certified Crop Advisors will be offered. Lunch will be provided.

A summary of the Maryland farm well drinking water project results, and recommended well care and treatment practices will be presented.

The Global FEWture Alliance advances systems-based interdisciplinary research-to-action, community-driven capacity building, and experiential education to effect positive change in underserved communities at the nexus of food, energy, water, climate, and health. Through our holistic systems-based approach, we alleviate food, energy and water insecurity, protect environmental and global public health, and bolster community resilience in a changing climate.

The Symposium will highlight our Alliance’s accomplishments, to date, in Maryland, Israel, Tanzania, and Nepal. In addition, through the participation of other researchers and professionals focused on food-energy-water nexus issues, the symposium will facilitate the development of new partnerships here at UMD, in the State of Maryland, and beyond.

Plastics are everywhere and can contaminate surface and ground water used for drinking. We will discuss risks to people and the environment and what we can do.

This presentation will discuss a variety of strategies that can be used to extend the grazing season, including the use of legumes, annual forages, stockpiled forage, corn stalks, and cover crops.

There are several financial assistance programs including grants and low interest loans available to qualifying homeowners for repairs to their private well or septic system. This webinar will discuss those programs.
