The new U.S. News & World Report rankings are out for "Best Global Universities" and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) has been ranked as #22 in the nation as the place to study agricultural sciences. This accolade comes alongside several other top national rankings for AGNR programs of study, including #1 in Green and Sustainable Science & Technology, #17 in Ecology, #21 in Food Science & Technology, #26 in Environment/Ecology, and #28 in Plant and Animal Science.
Known across the university, and now the country, as the leading college in serving public purpose, feeding and nourishing communities, stewarding a healthy planet, and building a sustainable tomorrow, AGNR prepares its students to take action to solve some of the planet's most immediate challenges.
"These rankings demonstrate the esteem of a University of Maryland and AGNR education, letting prospective students know that this college can lead them towards making a true difference with issues related to food for all, reversing the effects of climate change, and preserving our treasured natural resources, like the Chesapeake Bay," said AGNR Dean Wendy Powers.
These AGNR rankings are paired with the overall University of Maryland ranking of #11 among U.S. public universities, cementing UMD as one of the most prestigious places to enroll in the country.
