Ways to Engage with our Students

Post an Internship or Job

Handshake is the university’s online job and internship database that allows employers to post positions, browse resumes and register for upcoming events.  This is our preferred method for posting position for students within AGNR. To post a position, you will first need to set up an account in Handshake. Check out the "Getting Started on Handshake" tab for more information.

Internships: Many of our AGNR students participate in internships. In fact, over 79 % of AGNR students reported having one or more internships during their time at the University of Maryland. We encourage you to post your internship via Careers4Terps. Additionally, if you’re interested in starting a new internship program, we are happy to share with you best practices for having a successful internship program. Check out the Internship Guide for Employers to help you learn how to create, develop and/or enhance an internship program for University of Maryland, College Park students.

Attend Events

Career Fairs and Networking Events are a great way for organizations to connect with UMD students and build brand on our campus. The University Career Center hosts a number of fairs and events during the academic year to meet your recruiting needs.  The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources does not host an ag specific career fair, however, we encourage employers seeking to recruit our students attend our fairs hosted by the University Career Center and the President’s Promise. • Volunteer: Assist with resume reviews and/or mock interviews in preparation for career fairs or through one of our career classes.

  • Career Shuttle: The host employer typically arranges a tour for students and presents the opportunity to hear firsthand from current employees, including interns, about their roles.

  • AGNR Discovery & Innovation Night: An annual event to showcase AGNR student experiences, this is an opportunity for employers to connect with many of the best students AGNR has to offer!
