I have a split position 60% I am the Food Supplement Nutrition Educator (FSNE) for the Carroll County Extension Office. I provide programs on nutrition and food safety to various agencies in Carroll County. I provide programming using FSNE written and approved curricula including but not limited to Growing Healthy Habits, Read for Health, Up for the Challenge, Nutrition Nuggets, Nutrition to Go, Market to Mealtime, Feeding for Healthy Eating, and My Plate. I am the Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, 40% I research and write curriculum and provide existing programs to citizens in Carroll County focusing in Nutrition, Food Safety and Food Preservation. I am currently working with the Department of Social Services, the Health department , at the Family Center, Judy Center and Head Start sites, five area senior centers and three developmentally disabled sites. I have a BA in Sociology from Towson University. I have a Master’s in Adult Education/Distance Learning. My current focus is on the My Plate, Dietary Guidelines, The Importance of Physical Activity, Menu Planning, Food Safety and Food Preservation.I help to write a newsletter for our extension office, entitled “Extracts of Thyme”. Member of the Carroll County School Health Council, Carroll County Advancing Health and Wellness Team. UME FCS Healthy Living Focus Team, Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, and for the National Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
