Education

  • BSA in Agricultural Studies - Arkansas State University (Expected Dec. 2026)

Mackenzie (Underwood) Jones is a fifth-generation member of Pioneer Valley Farm, a dairy farm owned by her grandparents, Ronald and Janette Underwood. Her agricultural background and experiences in 4-H helped shape her passion for youth development, agricultural education, and outreach. She is currently attending Arkansas State University Online, majoring in Agricultural Studies and minoring in Communications.

Mackenzie is a 4-H alumna and longtime volunteer. As a member of the Rising Sun Milk Squirters 4-H Club, she served as secretary and president and exhibited dairy cattle, beef cattle, and swine at county and state shows. She also served on the Cecil County Jr. Fair Board from 2014 to 2019 and participated in the USDA AgDiscovery program in St. Croix in 2016.

Her passion for agricultural advocacy and education also led her to serve as the 2016 Maryland Dairy Princess and 2017 Miss Maryland Agriculture. These experiences strengthened her interest in communicating about agriculture and connecting with youth and consumers.

Today, Mackenzie continues to be actively involved in 4-H and agriculture. She serves as the leader of the Rising Sun Milk Squirters 4-H Club and as a member of the Cecil County Fair Board, where she helps coordinate several livestock shows and contests.

Outside of work and volunteering, Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, reading, and traveling, especially to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Nashville. She looks forward to continuing to connect with 4-H youth, families, volunteers, and community members through hands-on learning and outreach opportunities.
