Lisa Gonzalez joined the LEAD Maryland team in June 2026 as an Agent Associate with University of Maryland Extension Agriculture and Food Systems team, serving the LEAD Maryland Fellowship Program. She has worked with Cooperative Extension for over 12 years including with the University of Florida IFAS Extension, NC State Cooperative Extension, and the University of Maryland Extension. She has held many roles in Extension including as an Agriculture Agent, Food Systems Specialist, FCS Agent, SNAP-Educator, and County Extension Director. For the last four years, Lisa worked as a Food Policy Analyst working directly with Members of Congress, federal agencies, and coalition partners to pursue policy pathways that support farmers and other food system stakeholders. Lisa holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies, M.S. in Nutrition, and is currently working on a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Lisa is excited to return to the University of Maryland Extension and thrilled to be serving the LEAD Maryland fellowship Program. Lisa is a key coordinator to ensure the successful planning, delivery, and evaluation of LEAD Maryland Fellowship curriculum and related educational activities.
