Heather McHale joined the IAA faculty in 2018; she has been at the University of Maryland since 2002. She advises students in the IAA's Ag Forward program and teaches writing and communication courses.
She got her first lessons in public speaking and persuasive argument from her 4-H livestock judging team at age 12. In more recent years, she has taught college rhetoric, argument, and literature at a variety of DC-area institutions, including the University of Maryland and Georgetown University.
