Dr. Mona Habibi is a Faculty Member in Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Maryland Extension (UME), serving Montgomery, Howard, and Frederick counties in the Central Maryland Cluster. Her primary focus is on community nutrition. Dr. Habibi teaches nutrition, food safety, health, and physical activity topics. Her responsibilities include assessing the healthy living needs of her community, with an emphasis on nutrition; adapting and/or developing research-based educational programs; evaluating the effectiveness of these programs; and assessing their outcomes. Additionally, she serves as the chair of UME's Nutrition, Health, and Wellness Action Team.
