Leading researchers from across the nation will present their findings on novel practices that advance our understanding of the value of manure in crop production. Their works have demonstrated how altering our paradigms of manure management greatly impact agronomic productivity, economic returns, as well as water quality outcomes.

Attendees will also hear from local leaders sharing results from local projects involved in manure management practices. Hear the first-hand experiences from growers and applicators involved in these works and how changing practices has affected their operations.

2024 Advanced Landscape IPM PHC Short Course

This is a recertification short course for arborists, landscapers, IPM consultants, horticulturalists, professional gardeners, and others responsible for urban plant management. The course lectures will be held over four days at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. In addition, there will be a hands-on lab following lecture (available to a limited number of course attendees). Coordinators: Drs. Grain Marketing Update 2024

The Annual UME Grain Marketing Update will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, from 8:00 am-10:30 am. This virtual meeting will include speakers on various grain marketing topics. Speakers include marketing specialists, traders, and more. Topics include local and national grain outlook for 2024, tax considerations, crop insurance, and crop budgets. Learn about the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and the Maryland Emergency Broadband Benefit (MEBB), two benefit programs that help eligible consumers afford internet service.

A presentation by Marylanders Online will be followed by one-on-one assistance filling out the necessary online forms for the two benefit programs.

ACP provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible consumers.

MEBB provides a subsidy up to $15 per month as a discount, allowing eligible consumers to obtain a total benefit of up to $45 discount each month.

If you cannot attend the event, you can learn more about ACP, including eligibility and how to enroll, by visiting www.fcc.gov/ACP, GetInternet.gov, or calling the Marylanders Online help center at 1-866-206-8467.

Please join us for the 2023 Harvest Breakfast. The doors will open at 7:30 am and the breakfast and program will begin at 8:00 am. Breakfast will include coffee, tea, juice, milk, eggs, scrapple, sausage, biscuits, potatoes and more!
