The two new members of the Terrapin family are the first foals to be born on the Campus Farm in 30 years. Their dams (mothers) live on a rotational grazing site at one of the university’s larger research farms in nearby Howard County but they spent the final leg of their pregnancies here on campus so students could learn first-hand about equine reproduction and witness live foalings.
