The IAA offers nine majors to jump-start your career in agribusiness, sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, horticulture, landscaping, turfgrass management, or ag communications. We will explore areas of study, financial aid and scholarships, world-class facilities, campus life, and more!

The Western Maryland Regional Fruit Meeting will be held at the University of Maryland, Western Maryland Research and Education Center, 18330 Keedysville Road, Keedysville, MD 21756, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost to attend the workshop is $40* ($45 after Feb 8, 2024), which includes continental breakfast, lunch, and handouts.

This yearly meeting will present industry information (including pesticide and nutrient management updates) related to commercial tree and small fruit production by the University of Maryland Extension and industry experts.

Attendance at this meeting qualifies for recertification continuing education credits (CEU’s) for individuals possessing a current and valid license:

• MARYLAND Recertification Training Commercial/Public Agency/Consultant/Private—credits in Categories 1A, 10*, 12*, PVT*
• WEST VIRGINIA Pesticide Recertification Training
• MARYLAND Nutrient Management Program

There is plenty of time for questions, sharing, reacting, and connecting with your presenters and fellow participants. It's a relaxed, fun and dynamic way to learn, grow and meet other women in agriculture.

The University of Maryland Extension and College of Agriculture & Natural Resources will host an all-day workshop discussing recent fruit tree planting and management research on Friday, February 23rd, at the Wye Research and Education Center, 124 Wye Narrows Drive in Queenstown.

Optional training session to prepare for Maryland's New Private Pesticide Applicator exam. Private Hard copy of the Pesticide Applicator Core Manual is available for purchase during business hours at the Extension Office before the exam; the cost is $10, payable by cash or check only. Grain farmers and ag professionals are encouraged to join University of Maryland Extension for this educational program focusing on production agronomy. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and the program starts at 9:30 a.m. Guest speakers include regional experts and University of Maryland faculty and Maryland Department of Agriculture. Topics satisfy requirements for Maryland pesticide and nutrient management renewal. Pennsylvania pesticide credits also available

$12 registration includes morning refreshments and a hot lunch. Registration is $20 after February 9.

The Central Maryland Forage Conference will be held at the New Midway Volunteer Fire Company located at 12019 Woodsboro Pike New Midway, MD 21775 on Thursday, January 18th from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

The annual event will feature regional experts and local speakers covering a variety of topics on growing and managing forages on the farm.

Nutrient management certification credits and private and commercial applicator pesticide credits will be available. The cost for the event is $25 and will include a light breakfast and lunch.

February 15, 2024 will mark our 23rd Annual MidAtlantic Women In Agriculture Regional Conference.
