VIDEO: Mighty Microgreens Continue to Make Headlines

Microgreens are tiny versions of herbs, veggies and other plants harvested as seedlings.

News about the surprisingly-high nutritional content of microgreens – tiny seedlings of various vegetables and herbs – continues to spread across the country.

The microgreens study was performed jointly by researchers at the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Assistant Professor Qin Wang and graduate student Zhenlei Xiao from the department of Nutrition and Food Science were recently featured in a news story that aired on Washington, DC’s ABC affiliate WJLA-TV:
