“In my new role as an FFA advisor and ag science teacher at Gravetter High School and Middle School in Gravette, Arkansas, I am so excited to share my passion for agriculture with others. Agriculture is such an important part of our everyday lives and so many people don’t understand where their food comes from. Being able to share my knowledge, experiences, and curiosity with others will be so rewarding. I hope to spark that passion for agriculture in others so that they may consider careers in the field as well.”

“Ever since I was young, I have wanted to be in management to some degree. My new position as speciality services manager with Shorb Landscaping has given me the great opportunity to integrate and adapt to new technologies in the green industry with the implementation of auto mowers. I am excited to pioneer the technology and would like to learn more about its utilization on maintenance grounds for landscape companies.”

“I took a new position as deputy director of GIS & Technology at Straughan Environmental where I support company projects across all Straughan geographic regions and directly support the director of GIS & Technology in all aspects of project and personnel management, administration and operations. I develop models and code to process information and manage data, build web maps and apps to support inventory and inspection efforts, and participate in many diverse projects that help our clients manage their infrastructure and environmental assets.

I was recently termed off as AGNR alumni president and I am most proud of the presence we have built up over the years, both in reengaging with alumni (and building our board) and how many students know we are ready to welcome them as alumni of the college once they graduate. I’m proud of our great board members who will continue to get things done!”

“As a two-time AGNR alumna (IAA ’18 and AREC ’21), I’m excited to give back to the college that has given me so much by serving as the AGNR Alumni Network president! I am committed to enhancing student experiences, building professional networks, serving in communities, and advocating for the college. I look forward to connecting with our extensive alumni community most; if you aren’t already, I encourage you to get involved with us!”

“In my new position as agriculture technician supervisor, I am the cow herd manager of the Wye Angus. I am excited for the wonderful opportunity to continue developing a grass-based beef operation that not only improves the Angus breed of cattle, but also feeds the University of Maryland’s college campus. I am proud to be joining such a well known brand of cattle and organization.”
