Sam has been involved in communication education since 1978.  He has taught on the university and community college level and functioned as a consultant and trainer in business and industry.  Several of his clients have included leaders in the telecommunications field and government agencies, but he is especially proud of his work with members of the armed forces at Andrews Air Force Base.

His passions take on many forms.  Sam is an avid long distance runner, dedicated musician, aspiring novelist and strong supporter of the arts.  In addition, he has an intense enthusiasm for science fiction and fantasy, IMAX films, the Baltimore Orioles and, most of all, spending time with his sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.

A native Marylander and UM alumni, Sam lives in Annapolis with his wife, Harriet, where they enjoy life on the Chesapeake Bay, flying kites and experiencing some of the world's greatest sunsets!
