Our mission at the Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architecture (SASLA) is to uphold the principles outlined by our national organization, the ASLA: "to lead, educate, and participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning, and artful design of our cultural and natural environments." We carry out this mission by educating students about the landscape architecture profession, providing students with opportunities to interact with professionals, and fostering a sense of community among the landscape architecture student body.
The chapter leaders plan numerous events throughout the year, such as fundraising events, community outreach projects, and social events. Members also are able to attend the much-anticipated spring semester event, LABash, an annual student-run landscape architecture conference held at a different university each year.
By joining SASLA, students will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about their field
- Participate in campus activities and social events
- Meet landscape architecture students
- Network with professionals
- Develop leadership skills by serving as an officer
