BORLAUG: The Borlaug Fellows Program sponsors faculty and scientist exchange programs in developing countries. Each Fellow is assigned a mentor who will coordinate the Fellow’s training. For information on obtaining a visa for a Borlaug Fellow, please see the IPAN page on Visiting Scholars.
COCHRAN: The Cochran Fellowship Program is a training program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered through its Foreign Agricultural Service. Agriculturalists in select foreign countries may apply for the training program, which varies in length from 2 weeks to 1 month. The training is done in the U.S. by universities, agribusinesses, government agencies or consultants. In May 2010, UMD trained a class of Cochran Fellows from the Republic of Georgia.
