Shannon Dill is the Agriculture Extension Educator for the University of Maryland Extension in Talbot County. She has been a faculty member of the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources since 2001. Shannon holds a B.S. in Agricultural Business and M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wyoming. More recently she completed a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
As a native of Maryland's Eastern Shore, Shannon has a deep-rooted interest in various aspects of agriculture, including farm production, profitability, and conservation within the region. Her role involves providing outreach and education to agriculture producers, particularly in the areas of farm business planning, small farm enterprises, marketing, and entrepreneurship. She is also involved in applied research projects related to production economics, farm profitability, and risk management, all of which contribute to the growth and sustainability of the agriculture industry. In addition to her local efforts, Shannon plays a role in leadership at a broader scale, providing guidance to initiatives such as the MidAtlantic Women in Agriculture Network and the Maryland Beginning Farmer Success Project.
