Maryland Eventing Team

The Maryland Eventing Team (MET) is a sports club that focuses on competing and training in the Eventing discipline of equestrian sport at the University of Maryland. The United States Eventing Association (USEA) recently developed an Intercollegiate Eventing Program, where the Maryland Eventing Team competes with a few dozen other universities. The University of Maryland registered as an affiliate organization for this program in May of 2015 and began accepting MET members the fall of 2015. Members are given the opportunity to train independently or in weekly lessons at Waredaca. Active training members ride weekly at Waredaca, located in Laytonsville, MD. All members also have the option to compete in USEA recognized events as a MET affiliate. Competitions and trainings are not required. Members also have opportunities to participate in other club activities, such as monthly meetings, educational seminars, competitions, and other horse-related clinics.
