Mackenzie L. Jones

Mackenzie (Underwood) Jones is a proud member of the fifth generation of Pioneer Valley Farm, a dairy farm owned by her grandparents, Ronald and Janette Underwood. Mackenzie’s connection to agriculture runs deep. She is a 4-H Alumna and has been actively involved as a 4-H volunteer for six years. During her time as a member of the Rising Sun Milk Squirters 4-H club, she held several elected positions, including club secretary and president. As a youth, Mackenzie showed dairy cattle, beef cattle, and swine at county and state shows. From 2014 to 2019, she served on the Cecil County Jr. Fair Board and participated in committees focused on agricultural education, 4-H promotion, and the Cecil Celebrity event. Her passion for agriculture led her to participate in the USDA’s AgDiscovery program in 2016, where she spent two weeks on the island of St. Croix, learning about agriculture in a tropical climate. That same year, Mackenzie was named the Maryland Dairy Princess and later went on to become Miss Maryland Agriculture in 2017. Holding these titles solidified her love for agricultural education and communicating directly with consumers. Mackenzie’s involvement in agriculture continued to grow as she became a committee member of the Maryland Dairy Princess Association (MDPA) in 2021 and was elected Vice President in 2022. At the start of 2024, she took on the role of one of the two state coordinators for the MDPA. Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, who recently became a 4-H volunteer as well. Mackenzie is looking forward to engaging with current 4-H youth, volunteers, and future 4-H members through a variety of outreach programs.
