Mark W DeMorra

Mark DeMorra is Maryland 4-H's STEM Specialist, overseeing 4-H robotics, aerospace, computer science, engineering, emerging tech, and makerspace programming. After interning at NASA-Goddard in the Astrophysics Dept., Mark ran youth and adult STEM programs across Maryland for 13 years. He helped found the M4Reactor makerspace in Salisbury and was a Maryland Out-of-School-Time STEMbassador from 2014-2017. At the Wicomico Library, Mark coached their Zero Robotics team, a cooperative program with NASA, MIT, DARPA, and Lockheed-Martin. The team won the international championship in 2014, watching their code run live on the ISS with live play-by-play by the astronauts. Mark also coached FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenge teams for 10 years for the Salisbury School, Horizons Program, Wicomico Libraries, and 4-H. While at UMES, he taught Undergraduate Physics, was a program consultant for non-profits & educational organizations, and began Doctoral research in Physics & nanotechnology. He likes to travel, read, play games, attend trivia nights, and streams on Twitch in his spare time.
