RESEARCH FOCUS

With a diverse background in both human nutrition and food science and chemistry, my research interest is to develop nutraceuticals and functional foods with promising effects on obesity, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disease, and/or novel coronavirus.

To fulfill this goal, my research activities mainly include 1) characterizing bioactive components from promising plants; 2) evaluating their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, gut modulatory, and anti-virus properties in vitro; 3) validating their potential effects on the health-relevant outcomes in vivo; 4) conducting systematic review and meta-analysis on the topic of interest by compiling the data reported by all the available clinical studies.
