Jean Burchfield is the Program Management Specialist for the UME Master Gardener Program. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 2017 with a B.S. in Plant and Soil Systems and a minor in Entomology. While an undergraduate, she conducted research in the areas of honeybee toxicology and physiology. She then worked as the Public Relations Assistant and Research Associate for the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens and LSU AgCenter Hammond Research Station. After relocating to Maryland, Jean worked for Howard County Recreation and Parks at the Robinson Nature Center. Jean enjoys travelling, hiking, and visiting gardens and local farms.
