"As a Consumer Safety Inspector for the USDA I am responsible for inspecting the food produced by meat and poultry companies. We ensure the American food supply has safe and wholesome meat and food is only produced under sanitary conditions. We also make sure meat is properly labeled to prevent consumer deception and fraud."

Supervises 35 staff scientists, military and technicians in developing countermeasures and immunomodulators to treat Malaria. Primary Investigator on novel malaria antigen discovery and expression of the novel malaria and SARS-CoV-2 viral proteins proposal. Team leader, organizes and leads writing and submission of grant proposals for internal and external competitive funding. Develops and supervises research studies from early bench top research through animal model testing. Voting member of the joint Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and Naval Medical Research Center IACUC Committee, reviews animal protocols and monitors research that involves animal testing.

What I Do

Though people think Park Rangers are frolicking through the forest all day, that is not true a majority of the time. Most of my day is doing visitor center operations, which entails helping visitors find trails, buy passes for our lands, give information on upcoming events, and deliver our mission to the public: “Working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people”.

What I Do

Puri’s unit advises the Green Climate Fund’s board and stakeholders about lessons learned from evaluations and high-quality evidence, providing guidance and capacity support. As part of this function, her group is expected to provide evaluation reports to the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations and the Paris Agreement for periodic review.
