A study abroad opportunity at the Moscow State Agroengineering University (MSAU) for Spring Semester 2008!

This semester Olivia Yu (ENSP) has been having an exciting time in Moscow and environments. She is now on her way to beginning her summer internship with an international agricultural corporation's Moscow office. If you follow her lead,

You will learn to speak Russian in an introductory course here or on the web prior to your semester in Moscow. There, you will learn more Russian and practice with native speakers. You will take three courses English (by US faculty including Natural Resource Science and Landscape Architecture's own chairman, Dr. Dick Weismiller); you will live, work, and learn side-by-side with Russian students; you will study a variety of topics from Russian language to the economics of collective farming.
You will visit crop and livestock operations.
You will tour St. Petersburg and enjoy the rich history and culture of Russia.
You will have an additional opportunity for a 6-week internship, partnered with a Russian student, at an agricultural enterprise of your choosing.
And, you will receive academic credit here at UM.

You need to be in very good academic standing (GPA 2.5 or above) and have achieved junior standing (60 credits or more) by the end of the Fall semester.

The College has SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT for top applicants. For resident students, it may actually cost you less for one semester to study abroad; for commuters, you will have the added costs of housing and meals. However, grant and scholarship support may defray up to $2,000 of your Moscow experience expenses.
