How Do You Enter To Win the $1000?
Entering your post is easy. Just follow these 4 simple steps.
- Write your blog entry
- Post it to your blog with our embed code
- Let us know you've entered
- Share your entry online
How Will It Be Judged?
Entries will be judged on two factors: Content and Social Validation. Obviously what you say counts most. We're looking for the most creative and thought-out solution to your chosen issue. We will also be looking at social metrics, including: "tweets", Facebook "Likes", "Stumbles", and Google "+1's". The winning blog post will have both compelling ideas and social support, neither one can independently guarantee a win.
Why A Blog Post?
Let's face it, no one wants to write an essay and send it in an envelope right? With a blog post, you have full creative potential to include photos, links to other places for reference, and even embedded videos. We're hoping to see all these elements as they're what make a good post great.
What If I Don't Have A Blog?
You may not have your own blog, but do you know anyone who does? Perhaps you can "guest post" on their blog. If you're already a college student, many colleges have blogs already set up for students. Either way, chances are you're closer to a blog than you think, ask around. If all else fails, these services exist as free blogging platforms, feel free to start your own:
- Blogger
- Wordpress.com
- Tumblr
