Commitments to Action are new, specific, and measurable initiatives that address social or environmental challenges on campuses, in communities, or around the world.

The Pat Tillman Foundation will be providing $200,000 to support innovative and sustainable student Commitments to Action across all of the five CGI U focus areas: Education, Energy & Climate Change, Global Health, Peace & Human Rights, and Poverty Alleviation. The Wal-Mart Foundation has also committed $200,000 to support student and student-group commitments in the field of Energy and Climate Change. A total of $400,000 will be distributed. Award winners will be notified at the end of the 2009 academic year.
