Central Scholarship Bureau

Founded in Baltimore in 1924, Central Scholarship Bureau (CSB) helps students in Maryland realize their academic and professional goals through interest-free loans and grants to attend accredited institutions within the United States.

Providing access to higher education is the cornerstone of CSB's philosophy. At CSB, students find the money they need for their education and keep their interest-bearing debt to a minimum.

If you’re a student from Maryland with a GPA above 2.0 and a family income below $90,000 a year, or $66,000 a year for students pursuing career and technology training, you can apply for Central Scholarship awards. You must be planning to attend an accredited United States college, university, community college or career school in the upcoming academic year. And you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

If you haven’t been a Maryland resident for at least one year, but you live within 200 miles of Baltimore City, you can still apply. You’ll be eligible for our interest-free loans only. Non-Maryland residents who are bilingual, and are pursuing graduate study in social work or mental health at Maryland schools, are also eligible, but only for the Stulman Endowed Scholarship.

Application will be accepted from January to April of the current year.

The application and further details can be found at http://www.centralsb.org/.
