Major: Turf and Golf Course Management
I was attracted to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources because it offers a Turf Program and the low student-to-faculty ratio appealed to me.
When I got here I was pleasantly surprised to discover that not only are the faculty very knowledgeable in their fields, but they (and the staff) also are very down to earth and are there to help you succeed both academically and in your future career.
When I started college I wanted to be a golf course superintendent and I my plans haven't changed. I think my coursework and internship experiences are preparing me well for my goal. For example, I interned at Chester River Yacht and Country Club last summer and am interning at Miacomet Golf Club on Nantucket Island, MA, this summer.
My favorite course so far has been PLSC 401. It is very information oriented and provides a plethora of information that will help me to become successful in the future.
Advice for prospective students: If you're considering a career in agriculture, the possibilities are endless, and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will prepare you for your goals.
Advice for parents of prospective students: The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will provide your son or daughter with an outstanding education that has many possibilities of becoming successful in the future.
