Curtis Crouse was an Animal and Avian Sciences major in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. “I had always and still do have a love for animals and the major allowed me to work very closely with them,” he says.
Currently, he works as an Aquatics Specialist for Charles River. To find a job, he went to career fairs on campus and searched career Web sites.
“I originally met Charles River at the biosciences career fair and started a job with them felling a wide range of lab animal care duties with many different species,” he says.
On a daily basis, Curtis provides daily husbandry and life support system maintenance for zebrafish, frogs, and sea urchins. “I would like to continue working with aquatic species and be a part of advancing the field of aquaculture,” he says of his career goals.
“AGNR prepared me by giving me the knowledge I would need to succeed, but more importantly, it taught me how to apply this knowledge to real life problems that I encounter every day,” he says.
