At three weeks old, posing for pictures, froclicking in front of video cameras and showing off for a steady stream of visitors is just a day in the life for the University of Maryland's newborn foal. Since his arrival on the campus farm the morning of March 8, students, faculty, campus visitors and local news crews have been clamoring to watch the colt in action. As the first foal born on campus in three decades, his presence is creating quite the media frenzy. Fortunately, the rambunctious foal, nicknamed "Rebel" by animal science students working closely with him, seems comfortable in the limelight.

The colt will soon have a friend to frollick with. A second mare is due to give birth on the campus farm April 7.
