Mr. Mark L Shute

As the web developer for the College of AGNR, Mark makes it a point to keep on top of the latest trends and advances in online information distribution. He is an expert in HTML, JavaScript, MacroMedia's ColdFusion, and Adobe PageMaker. While he prefers to write his own code by hand using a text editor, he is familiar with most WYSIWYG Web Development tools such as Macromedia's Dream Weaver, Microsoft's FrontPage, and Netscape's Composer.
In addition, Mark has picked up skills in Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Access, LDAP protocol, FTP & Telnet systems, Microsoft Word, and Quark Express.
Mark is an alumni of the University of Maryland's College of Arts and Humanities where he majored in English Language, Writing, & Rhetoric. He returned to UMCP after more than 5 years in the non-profit sector where he produced the medical journal Military Medicine and created the first web page for the Association of Military Surgeons.
While working to develop a rich content management system for the college, Mark is also developing his skills in Flash animation and streaming multimedia.
