Dr. Daniel R. Perez
Associate Professor
VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine
Daniel obtained his BSc/MS from the College of Chemical Sciences at the National University of Cordoba, Argentina and completed his PhD in Molecular Virology in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska. He has been studying virus-virus and virus-host protein interactions of influenza virus and bovine viral diarrhea virus. His current interests include the interspecies transmission, pathogenesis, and evolution of avian influenza viruses and the role of cross-protective immunity in the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses to other birds and mammals.
