If you already have an undergraduate degree and are interested in pursuing a career in Dietetics, the Dietetics Program Director can evaluate your previous coursework and advise you on completing the coursework necessary to pursue the RD credential.
There is a charge for this service of $65.00 for the first US transcript and $75 for the first foreign transcript. There is an additional charge of $5 each for each additional transcript (US or foreign).
Please send a check payable to the University of Maryland along with official transcripts from all schools attended to:
Dietetics Program Director
Department of Nutrition and Food Science
0112 Skinner Building
College Park, MD 20742
- Transcripts should be sent along with the check, and a letter stating your request for a transcript evaluation. All materials should be sent to the Dietetics Program Director in one package. DO NOT have transcripts sent directly from schools to the address above.
- Please include an email address, telephone number, and mailing address.
- The Dietetics Program Director will evaluate transcripts on the last business day of each month.
- If your undergraduate education was completed outside of the United States you will need to have your transcripts converted to US equivalents before they can be evaluated. Please read the International Fact Sheet from the American Dietetic Association for more information.
- Once your transcripts and check are received and the transcripts are evaluated, a letter will be sent which outlines the specific courses needed to receive a Verification Statement. At that point, if you wish to pursue the credential further the Program Director will meet with you in person to discuss the details.
