ENST 100 International Crop Production-Issues and Challengesin the 21st (3 credits).

This course examines the role of cropproduction in elevating humans out of poverty in developing countries.It will introduce students to the basic principles of plant and soilscience underlying the international production of food crops and worldfood security. The role of multinational agencies such as the WorldBank in the promotion of sustainable crop production usingenvironmentally-sound technologies will also be discussed.
