Ina Anderson, Coordinator ENST Business Office
Alexei Bondar, IT Coordinator, manages all aspects of department’s network administration and Information Systems needs. His responsibilities include “A to Z” of IT needs, including network security, design and implementation for faculty, students, and staff. Alexei graduated from UMBC honors IFSM program with a second degree in linguistics.
Robert Carter, Director of Administrative Services, manages all financial activity (operating budget of $3 million), grant management (budget of $4 million), administrative, human resource and personnel functions, including payroll for more than 125 active employees. Bob has worked in several management positions, including administrative and academic units, within the University of Maryland system while at UMBC and College Park over the last 20 years.
Ali (Jamshid) Djamshidi, Engineering Technician, is a Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years experience in the design and construction of mechanical components and systems. Jamshid’s current assignment is with the ENST Project Development Center where he fabricates custom equipment for research, teaching, and extension activities. Especially skilled at producing “hand crafted” items, Jamshid began his career at the University in 2000.
Kintija Eigmina, Web and Communications Coordinator, manages all internal and external communications for the Department, including creating promotional materials and maintaining the ENST website. Kintija holds an M.A. in Public Relations from Ball State University and a B.A. in Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism from University of Wisconsin-Superior. Kintija comes to ENST from the UM Office of International Programs where she worked as a Communications Associate.
Kimberly Monahan, Undergraduate Program Coordinator, serves as academic advisor to students in ENST majors. Kimberly assists students with course selection and professional development opportunities, such as internship placement and travel-study. Kimberly is an alumni of the Natural Resources Management program and comes back to UM after working at Patuxent Wildlife Research Center and the Pinchot Institute for Conservation. Kimberly received the Gamma Sigma Delta Excellence in Academic Advising Award (2009) and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Student Council Outstanding Academic Advisor Award (2008).
Stanley Schlosnagle, Agricultural Tech Supervisor, supervises the Analytical Lab, which offers support for researchers affiliated with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The lab provides a soil prep room that includes grinders, mills and sieves for preparing soils for analyses. Carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen concentrations are determined in soil and plant tissue; and nitrate concentrations in water, soil and corn-stalk tissue. The lab’s resources include a 600º C mechanical convection oven. The lab’s best kept secret is its inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES). Stan is involved in field trials that concern crop rotations, N-rates and surface runoff.
Tina Scites, Administrative Assistant, serves as the assistant to graduate students in ENST program. Tina handles varied tasks, from assisting with the student applications, student records, and communication with the Graduate School. Tina has been with the Department for 10 years.
Gary Seibel, Research Engineer of the ENST Project Development Center. Gary manages the day-to-day activities of the Center where he designs and constructs innovative research equipment that is not commercially available to meet specific research, teaching and extension needs. Gary is also responsible for lab safety, inventory and facilities management for the ENST Department. Gary began his career in 1979 with the Agricultural Engineering Department as a shop assistant.
