Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Program Management Specialist performs a full range of administrative duties related to the management of the day-to-day operations of the AGNR Office of Human Resources Management.

Position Responsibilities:

 Assist with the overall administrative needs of the AGNR Office of Human Resources Management; to include, calendar management for the AGNR Diversity Officer, formatting, proofreading, and editing documents. Making logistical arrangements for state travel, processing travel approval requests and travel related reimbursements, maintain accurate financial records for all Procurement card transactions and reallocations. Assist with the planning and implementation of new or revised procedures, practices, and organization. Develop, implement, and maintain electronic filing system.  Create and track positions in eTerp and run routine EEO reports. Maintain office supplies and material inventory, greet visitors, and handle routine HR related inquiries via phone and e-mail. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with key units within and outside of AGNR and the University. Consult with the Director of Human Resources, Diversity Officer, and Human Resources Coordinator regarding policies, practices, and specific instructions. Assist with the College’s Performance, Review, and Development (PRD) process, probationary reports, and employment verification letters.


Minimums: Bachelor’s degree

Two years of experience in administrative staff work and/or office management

PREFERENCES: Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe.  Experience with Google (Gmail) and calendar management. Ability to navigate and use web based systems. Excellent communication skills. Ability to learn new software programs. Familiarity with UMD Purchasing Card System (Pcard), Kuali Financial System (KFS), ELF, and eTerp.  Ability to multitask. General knowledge of appropriate office practices and procedures.
