Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The successful candidate will be committed to the spirit and practice of interdisciplinary studies, direct the ENSP programs and be responsible for all aspects of the program including program personnel matters, budget, coordinating student advising with the Assistant Director and program staff, coordinating program curricula with faculty, advisors, facilitating recruitment activities with college representatives, developing ongoing communication and outreach with ENSP students and facilitating student professional development opportunities.

This position is with the ENSP Program which is administered through the Office of Academic Programs in the College of Agriculture of Natural Resources. The position will be located on the University of Maryland College Park campus and will report directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Programs. Salary will be garnered 50% from existing position and 50% from the ENSP budget and/or supporting colleges as appropriate. The University of Maryland offers an extensive benefits package.


Qualifications:

Required–

  • Ph.D in related field.
  • Experience in and commitment to interdisciplinary environmental science and policy education for undergraduates including an appreciation for the social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities.
  • Experience and excellence in teaching across the range of students from freshmen to seniors.
  • Exemplary record of scholarship in a field related to the program.
  • Must currently hold a tenured faculty appointment in any academic college of University of Maryland, College Park at the rank of least Associate Professor.

Preference–

  • Full Professor strongly preferred.
