Outstanding Senior 4 year - Jennifer Ann Krueger


An accomplished talented and motivated student, Jenny Krueger will graduate in May 2004 in the Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine option in Animal Sciences. At the end of Fall 2003, she had completed 132 credits - 12 more than needed for the BS degree - in only seven semesters while maintaining a 4.0 cumulative average. Jenny is a Gemstone student at College Park and has completed the requirements for the University Honors Citation.

Beyond the classroom, Jenny has been quite active in campus organizations including the Vet Science Club (vice-president), Animal Husbandry Club (president, treasurer), the Equestrian Club (herd health director), and Ski and Snowboard Club. In addition to an active academic and club/service calendar, Jenny is also employed as an animal caretaker on the Animal Sciences campus farm and as a technician at a local animal hospital.

Jenny frequently represents the ANSC program and the College. During the general orientation program at College Park, she was introduced to the campus' incoming Fall 2003 Class of Freshman as 1 of the 5 most outstanding students at the University of Maryland, College Park. She was a presenter at the Northeast Regional Teaching Workshop in October 2003 as one of the first recipients of the Tom Morris, Inc. Internship awarded by the ANSC program.

She has also received many academic awards and honors including the American Society of Animal Science Scholarship recognition, the DC Chapter of American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists Academic Achievement Award, the University of Maryland Gamma Sigma Delta chapter Undergraduate Award of Merit for 2002 and others.

Jenny plans to become a veterinarian and is in the midst of the interview and selection process. Jenny has a ready smile and pleasant demeanor in addition to being an articulate individual both as public speaker and in social settings among her peers.
