UMD AG DAY 2000
George Lechlider, a resident of Gaithersburg, Maryland, has been raising purebred swine since 1946. He has also shown locally and across the United States. He now judges shows both nationally and internationally, including shows in South America
Sheep: Bruce BennetBruce Bennet graduated from the University of Maryland in 1982 with a degree in Animal Science. Bruce, who was in 4-H for ten years, grew up farming beef, cattle, sheep, and hogs. He currently lives in Union Bridge, Maryland, where he raises Shorthorn cattle and Bohr goats
Beef: Gabe ZeppGabe Zepp was born and raised in Westminster, Maryland, on a small purebred beef cattle operation. He attended Delaware Valley College and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Large Animal Science and a minor in Ag Business. He is currently employed by the Carroll County Livestock Judging Team and continues to raise and show registered Red Angus Cattle with his family.
Dairy: Jeff MyersJeff Myers has judged state-level shows in 20 stats across the United States as well as in Columbia, South America. Jeff was high individual in the National Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest while completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture and Extension Education at the University of Maryland. He currently owns a small number of elite cows and operates his own consulting business, Del-Myr Associates. He also works part-time as an appraiser for the American Jersey Cattle Club Association.

Agriculture Student Council
The Agriculture Student council is a service group consisting of representatives from all agricultural clubs at the University of Maryland. Its purposes are to coordinate activities of the member clubs, to promote agricultural public relations, and to establish and develop interaction among students, faculty, administrators and alumni. In addition, the Ag Student council promotes the welfare and betterment of physical conditions and academic programs on campus for agricultural students.
Two representatives are elected to serve from each student club and officers of the Council are elected to 1-year terms from among these representatives. This year’s Ag Student Council members are:
